During its heyday, Resthaven Resort's guests arrived by train to swim, fish, relax and walk in the woods, many with a trunkload of clothes to last the full summer season. Meals were served family-style, and guests dressed for dinner. Many of Resthaven's visitors were from Chicago and Milwaukee, though they came from outside the Midwest also.
The below table shows the breakdown of guests' home locations during the first years of the resort's operation, when it was owned and operated by George and Marie Louise Keeler. The information shown here was compiled from the old desk register. Numbers are approximate, as each entry in the register counts as "1." An entry might represent a single individual traveling alone, or a whole family.
